This program is graduates toward acquisition of the knowledge and skills needed to provide competent counseling in K-12 school settings. Students complete a course of study in the following areas: research; statistics and psychometrics; developmental psychology; ethics; counseling diverse children; individual, group and career counseling skills; counseling for exceptional children; introductory and advanced theories of Adlerian Psychology; and introductory and advanced methods of school counseling. Students are immersed in the ASCA National Model throughout their entire educational program. Instruction is provided in classroom, small group, practicum and internship settings.

Students submit a baccalaureate degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution. A cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale. 12 quarter (9 semester) credits in psychology or a related field. A completed application file, which includes an interview. Official Transcript Please arrange to have an official transcript from the institution which granted student bachelor’s degree sent directly from that institution. Student official transcript must indicate that a bachelor’s degree was conferred. Student may also submit official transcripts reflecting other undergraduate or graduate level education.
