This program focuses on management of recreation, park and leisure service agencies and requires expertise in problem-solving, computer-based decision making, assessment of social and environmental impacts, personnel, public relations, volunteer management, financing and fund-raising, marketing of services, and needs assessments. Skills in working with people in the legal and political environment are necessary, as well as the ability to assess and work with other organizations for cooperative developments in recreation and tourism. Students will prepare for managerial careers with public recreation and park agencies, youth agencies, not-for-profit recreation agencies, and commercial recreation enterprises.

Applicant should have ranked in the top quarter of their graduating class, and must achieve a combined SAT Math and SAT Critical Reading score of at least 1300 with a test score of at least 600 in each of these components; or achieve a composite ACT score of at least 30 with a test score of at least 27 in ACT Math and ACT English. Students must take the writing component of the SAT and/or ACT in order for the test score to be considered, and have successfully taken all recommended coursework.

Applicant can submit the application form through online with a nonrefundable $75 application fee. The application fee may be paid by check, money order or approved credit card and applicants who wish to pay by credit card may do so as part of the online application. They should submit official transcripts of all official senior secondary or high school transcripts according to the educational system of their country (generally the last three to four years of secondary education); official SAT or ACT scores with writing component; scores on TOEFL; minimum SAT Critical Reading (Verbal) score of 480; minimum ACT English score of 19; minimum IELTS score of 6.0 overall band, or completing all four years in a U.S. accredited high school. Applicants are required to complete Essay Topics A and B on the Apply Texas Application. All the documents and credentials should be mailed to: International Admissions Processing, Texas A and M University, P.O. Box 40002, College Station, TX 77842-4002.
