I really like the University I am at. I think the system of higher education in the united states is far more competent than the one in India. The system of teaching, along with the personal development of an individual, while at university is something that can not be bettered. Only advice would be, it is a lot of work so be prepared, but it is all worth it. Work hard, party hard.

The admission process is a long one, in the sense that you must take the SATs, Toefl etc. then develop your application. They decide the students by looking at their record from the 9th to the 12th grades so it is a comprehensive system. It is a long process. Visa process itself has been eased a little. It has been made simpler. It was not an issue for me. Just apply in time, be prepared with all the paper work and just answer their questions honestly, and you should not have a problem. Travel is of course long. Takes a full day to get to university, so it is slightly pain ful. But it is once in four months, so it is not too bad.

I do not have scholarship.

My course is Industrial Engineering. It is more like the management and business aspect fused with engineering. It is very fascinating. The lectures are very helpful. The staff is highly competent, very good at their jobs, and helpful. The course is definitely value for money as the university is top5 for engineering.

Facilities are the best, everything is done to make a students life easier and yet give them space to grow. It is a fantastic experience so far. Closest city is Chicago, which has it is own charm. It is busy and very beautiful in itself. There are over 900 clubs on campus to join so lots of interesting things to do which even include sports, Model UN, sky diving etc. There are jobs available on campus with a per hour wage system, which helps students pay for their tuition.

Definitely the job prospects increase. And I try to keep in touch with as many people as possible.
