Coming from an Indian system makes it easy for students to get used to the system here as we are used to working hard and we have strong basics.

I wrote the SAT and TOEFL. Studied using Princeton Review for SAT and 10 Real SATs. TOEFL was from a CD. Did not attend any classes. I did need a VISA. Interview was pretty smooth. All they want to know what you are serious about your education and your purpose is not of immigrating into the country. Getting tickets was easy. I flew via KLM. No student fare. Landed at the International airport Dulles at Washington DC. KLM was decent. They allowed 2 bags of 50lbs each all over US. Did not face any issues. Had to arrange for own transportation but it was pretty easy and was on the Colleges website.

My college offers need based and merit based scholarships

I was happy with the programs structure. Professors were good and always willing to help.

Lived in dorms the first year, apartments the next years. Dorms are good in that, they make it easy for you to settle down in the first year.. Getting part time jobs is hard but not impossible for international students. City has a lot of good places to eat and is an hour away from Boston. Night life is good although most things are for over 21. It is very cold for 6 months in a year. There is an international as well as an Indian community.

The university has a placement cell. It is not very easy for Indian students to find jobs, but it is not impossible either. There is a campus placement process in place. Various job opportunities are posted on the website. About 100 or so. Work permit is not very easy to and there is a chance factor involved. There is an alumni society. Alumnis help in placements as well and approach the college when there are openings in their companies.
