College Experience at San Jose State university right now was average. Lab facilities and faculty were appropriate butneeded extra facilities to take care a large body of students. Courses are not that hard and so the course syllabus needs to be redesigned and taught much more effectively. Projects do not really draw a lot of energy and time to work on the projects. I had the opportunity to take non-ECE classes, so I suppose I did use the other classes to learn other non-technical stuff. It was very easy to get into the college. I had a decent SAT score, but my SAT score was very high compared to the average admitted student. Visa process was never painful, and the tuition is cheap too. Travel experience was never a problem.I did not receive any tuition fees or scholarship.Electrical engineering courses have considerably less assignments and projects with deadlines needing about two hours for every assignment. Projects are usually after the mid semester requiring a lot of literature review and learning from other materials apart from the text books to gain insight into the project and deliver adequately. Exams were easy because the questions were reviewed in the classes already. The course was a value for the money, but could be enhanced more. My advise to all the students to contact the seniors and receive assistance from them to learn strategies to easily get an A in the class, and how to use the class effectively to learn stuff. Lectures are helpful in most classes, but the TAs varies depending on the courses. The course was a value for the money. Staff and facilities at school are decent.Average campus facilities. People are friendly at San Jose. The most interesting things to do are shopping and night life in San Jose and many tourist places. Accommodation is expensive compared to other states. I worked part-time on campus. It was very hard to get a part-time job in campus as a lot of students compete for the same job. Student union has all the required facilities. Except for Indian student organizations, I do not know of any international student clubs. My job prospects were not bad considering the university is close to all the major electrical engineering companies. Many companies came to the job fair to hire people. I will keep in touch will alumni. I do not know of any alumni association yet.

I had originally applied to 3 universities but San Jose State was my first choice. The university has lived up to my ex...pectation and I have had a great time.My Bachelors was in ECE. I had to give the usual GRE and TOEFL exams. The University admission office was quite helpful. Visa interview was very quick - it seemed like it went on forever but it was all over in a matter of 5-10 minutes. I had to travel to Chennai for my Visa interview.I was able to develop a good rapport with my professor. The university had a wide range of labs and this helped us gain hands on experience.there were also a large number of specializations to choose from and that was useful. You have to learn to do a lot of things on your own. It is better to stay off campus with like minded people. I suggest using social networking websites to find people heading to the same university. Most universities don't have on campus housing and it is usually quite expensive. When at uni a car is not necessary but once you start working a car is a must in the US - it is a big handicap if you dont have a car.The course has good job prospects

My advice would be make sure your concepts are clear.I gave the GRE and the TOEFL. I attended IMFS in Mumba...i for coaching. I also hired a counselor; Learning Edge, in Mumbai. The visa interview was easy. I chose Cathay Pacific airlines. I got student fare and excess baggage. I got down at San Francisco airport. There was no "Meet and Greet" program.I don't have a scholarship.I like the program structure. Some professors are very good. Lecture halls are also quite good. There is a huge library.I live off campus. I don't have a part time either. The nightlife at San Jose downtown is awesome. The weather is perfect. There is an international student organization; ISO. They handle events like Diwali. There is a job fair on campus. Getting a job in San Jose is like winning a pot in Vegas! Almost everyone got placed from the previous batch. There is an alumni society and it is very big. I have no idea about their activities.

I am glad that I chose to study my postgraduate degree at San Jose University. I have chosen this University as it is...the cheap and best for all the students. The fees structure is very less when compared to other universities. Also the famous Silicon Valley is located.Faculties are very good, latest technologies are available. The courses start from 24th of Aug.Job prospects are very good, good change for internship.

THIS UNIVERSITY IS BEST AMONG ALL BECAUSE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD STUDENTS COME HERE. SO THERE IS A GREAT ADVANTAGE OF...EXCHANGE OF KNOWLEDGE. ALSO THIS UNIVERSITY IS RANKED 3RD IN NATION FOR THE INDUSTRIAL SYSTEM ENGINEERING I WORKED 5 HRS EVERY DAY. AND THE PROFESSORS ARE VERY HELPFUL. AND MY COURSE IS RELATED TO MANAGEMENT SO ITS GR8 ADVANTAGE TO LEARN MORE THINGS @ THE SITUATION IN RECESSION. HERE THE PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDLY. IN THIS SITUATION OF RECESSION ITS DIFFICULT TO FIND THE JOB. AND AS WE HAVE TO WORK JUST ONLY IN THE CAMPUS SO THERE IS NO MORE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK YES, MY JOB PROSPECTS HAVE INCREASED AS A RESULT OF MY STUDIES. ITS NEAR THE SILICON VALLY SO ITS GREAT ADVANTAGE
