The reputation of the institution is great. My degree is a very specialized one and is not offered in many universities. I heard about the research being carried out here and it matched with my interests, further, many of seniors recommended this university on account of its high ranking and the excellent research facilities.I got to know about Jambooree consultants through the Internet. I was happy with their coaching for the admission exams. They were also quite helpful in the admission and selection of the university.I feel the job prospects are looking up now and by the time I finish my course it should be fine, hopefully!!

There is a great scope to pursue a degree in your area of interest, so before you come here, be sure of what you want t...o learn.I gave the GRE and the TOEFL exam. For this I took coaching from Arjun international, Mumbai. I did hire a counselor (Mr. Harshit Trivedi) for my admission process. I would describe the visa process in 3 simple words Fun, interesting, easy. It is easy to get tickets but it takes time to search for good deals. I flew by DELTA Airlines which was good. I got both student fare and excess baggage. I landed at JFK, New York and then came to Boston. I didnt face any immigration issues. There was no Meet or Greet at the airport. There are scholarships in the form of tuition waivers and teaching assistantship. If you have good record they are easy to get.I am very happy with my program. The professors are excellent. Lecture halls are small, but enough to accommodate all the students. The library is huge and simply superb!!!I am living off campus, as there isnt housing for graduate programs. We have very good sports facility. Part time jobs are plenty. It is a metropolitan city, I have a couple of Indian and international friends here. The nightlife is very boring! Winter was extremely cold, but luckily I didnt catch a cold. I was able to adjust well with the new climate. There is an international student society at Tufts and they organize many festivals and meetings. ISAT is the student community for Asian students. They do help new coming students with finding house or temporary stay. There isnt any placement cell for our course. At least I did not find it very difficult to get a job. However there was nothing called campus placement process. Getting a work permit is more tedious than getting a job. There is a alumni society. But I am not sure how they help with placements.

Be prepared to work hard and then only can you party hard!I took the GRE and TOEFL like anyone else. I did...take coaching, as the tests are adaptive so I wanted to have a good practice. I didnt hire a counselor. I went on F1 visa. The procedure was very hectic and the scene in the embassy was chaotic! (but guess its better now!!) It was easy to get tickets. I took Delta airlines as it was the cheapest and gave student fare and extra baggage. I landed in JFK,New York. There was no Meet and Greet at the airport. We have fellowships, TA and RA.I am very happy with the way the program is structured. The professors are pretty good. The lecture halls are well designed to needs. The library is awesome!I live off campus. We have all sports facility available at TUFTS. I have a part time so basically it is not very tough. The social scene and nightlife is good. The weather is mostly cold. There an international student society in Tufts. They handle Indian festivals etc.I am not sure about the existence of a placement cell. Now days its hard to get a job and work permit for international students. There is a very active alumni society but no help with placements.

My advice to future students would be would be, It is a small and varied international community, a lot of work and fun... too, research oriented, creative thinking, originality important.I had to take GRE and TOEFL examination as a part of the admission process. A good score makes the admission easy. For a PhD, a good research experience is a must. I attended coaching classes for GRE in Chennai and this gave me a lot of confidence and made me aware of the real test experience. I did not hire a counselor because I think for PhD one needs to look onto the research that is going on,which is not understood by a counselor. I needed the students visa. Being a PhD in Biology, I had to wait a lot for security clearance. I did a decent amount of research to find a students discount and excess baggage from Lufthansa. The flight was very comfortable. I landed in Logan Airport, Boston, MA which is 30 minutes from TUFTS. The University did not have a Meet and Greet program.I have a fellowship for my research. PhDs are usually fully funded with a decent stipend.I am very happy with the research and the way it is structured. Altogether the professors are really good, however, few of them can do better. The lecture halls are alright but the library is very well equipped.I live in off campus housing. The sports facilities are excellent. The social scene is Boston is very good and the night life is rocking!! Boston has very long and snowy winters. There are several societies from different countries, e.g. ISAT for Indian students. Acclimatisation, accommodation, get-togethers, social celebrations are few things the international society handles.I dont know about the placement cell. Work permit is pretty easy once you have a job and the company is willing to sponsor H1B.Yes ,there is an alumini society. There are networking events. Dont think thats very efficient in placement.

Friends, Please come with an open mind and show eagerness to learn. Always remember you are coming for a purpose....I took the GRE and the TOEFL test. I did not attend coaching classes for this as I developed my own strategies. I did not hire a counselor for assistance. I needed F1 visa and the process was Straight forward. The interview didnt last for more than 5 minutes. I flew by Lufthansa I got a students fare but no excess baggage. The ticketing process was easy as I booked through an agent. I landed at Boston Logan International Airport half an hour from Tufts. There was no immigration problem as such. I did not have Meet and Greet program at the airport.I got Tuition fees waived and getting stipend from University. The program is good. There are little glitches. It is good in a big picture. The professors are good but there is always room for improvement. The lecture halls are well equipped and in great shape. The library is EXECELLENT.I live off campus. All sports facilities are available throughout the year and are free for the students. Part time jobs are competitive. It is a mix of diverse culture. People are very social and respect others nationality. It has a very happening nightlife. The weather is a typical English weather. The winters are very cold and snowy. The Indian Society celebrates all the major Indian festivals. There is a career services department for placements. International students are placed fairly well. There is a good placement process too. They organize career fairs. International center coordinates well with the work permit process, which has become a little tough this year. There is an alumni society too and they help with placements.
