The campus is a huge and the experience till now has been very memorable and fun filled. The courses offered by my department are very interesting and challenging. The place gets really cold during the winters so students should be prepared for a severe winter. But this must not deter students from coming here because even the snow falling is fun!!My university has the Wolverine online system for its application and my department is a separate department SNRE. The visa process is not cumbersome because its all done online. On the day of the visa dress formally and be confident when speaking to the interviewing officer. Take all appropriate documents and prepare answers for some typical questions. The courses are very relevant to the present day scenario. They talk about sustainable developments, industrial ecology etc which are very pertinent in today's plight of the earth. These are taught by experts in this field which makes it even more interesting. The course material is accessible at all times on the net which I feel is the best part. This way we can concentrate better in class without the need of making notes. There is no funding for MS students at least in the first year, but there are plenty of opportunities for part time employment. I feel the experience here is surely worth the money I am spending for the education. The facilities are really cool, there is a huge gymnasium, lots of tennis courts, swimming pools etc the pictures of which can be seen on the net. Philadelphia is pretty close by which is a nice city to explore. Downtown here is also a nice place to hang out. During winter there is ice skating which is also fun and enjoyable. There is an Indian association which helps all incoming students and has events on campus. Apart from this there are other recreational clubs on campus.Job fairs on campus help with placements. Some of the students also continue for a PhD degree.

I would highly rate my university. The scenic location and highly competent professors can't be bettered. The tuition s...tructure needs some serious consideration. The university is very good and highly ranked. But the tuition is very high and their intake is also high. So don't hope for financial assistance.Prepared for GRE and toefl exams and applied to universities. As for visa process everything went fine for me. Keep in touch with seniors and internet forums.I take 4 courses a term which is about 11-12 hrs of classes every week. I did not get any financial assistance but the professors here are highly knowledgeable and helpful. The university is 30 minutes from Detroit. The city of Ann Arbor is vibrant and is full of life. There are numerous clubs and places to hang out. The campus facilities are unmatched and there are plenty of options for on-campus employment.I was placed on campus. But I turned down my offer and came in for my masters. I think it will increase my job prospects.

I am really enjoying the university as it offers a lot of activities and interesting courses. The experience is surely...worthwhile in studying here. This university is a very prestigious university, so if you get an admit here then it means you are really good and talented. So I encourage a lot of people to apply here and come here for their studies. The only thing is the weather. It gets really cold in the winters.I had to write GRE and TOEFL tests. The standards are high to get into this university. So prepare well for these tests. Go through the requirements specified in the university webpage before applying to any university. This should be helpful to decide whether to apply to that university or not. Show necessary funds for visa and prepare answers to a few standard questions like why USA, why this university etc. I flew Lufthansa and for students 3 piece was allowed. No funding for MS students. The course is very nice and well planned. The professors give us a tentative plan of the course which help us to know what the course is about, which is the best part. Hours of lecture depend on the course taken by the student. Roughly 20 hrs a week is for studies. The facilities are awesome like a huge gym, swimming pools and tennis courts etc. The course and exposure I get here is surely worth the money I am spending. The professors are very nice and friendly and their method of teaching is also very simple which makes us understand the concepts. All the lecture notes are uploaded on the net for easy access. Many activities happen on campus. Recently we all celebrated diwali night with food, fun and music. Lots of restaurants to eat. There are many clubs and organizations on campus among which is an Indian association. The downtown area is really nice with lots of malls and eat outs. Ann Arbor is a fun city to study in.There are many on campus career fairs for recruitments. The market is slowly improving. There is an alumni network which help with placements.

I have chosen this University because of its great reputation and people here are much focused. It has different educat...ion set up which will enhance your life time ambition and shape you as a different individual.GRE and TOEFl were required. Barrons is enough for the preparations. I got a F1 visa. Interview was easy, just be clear of what you say to the visa officers. I flew Lufthansa, no issues with immigration. I was allowed 3 piece of luggage.Funding is a bit bad at the moment, but improving. The course is interesting.Lots of cultural activities like musical concerts both Carnatic and Hindustani. The weather is cold, but the university is very nice and the campus is good. The job scenario is changing and by the time I graduate the opportunities should be plenty. The alumni association is helpful in placements.

This is a nice place to study. The program structure is good.GRE and TOEFL were required and Barrons should... be enough for GRE. TOEFL does not need any special preparations. Getting a visa was tough in my case because of the PhD program. It took 20 odd days for the pink slip to get cleared. I flew Lufthansa and the journey was nice. No immigration issues I faced. I was allowed three piece because of student passenger. Many forms of RA\TA available here and qualified candidates get them easily.I am very happy with the program structure here and many interesting topics of research are being done here. The social life is good and lots of activities. The winter here gets very cold. There is an international student society here and organize events like independence day celebrations etc.College has many career fairs through the year and students attend these. Many big companies take part. Alumni networking is also helpful in finding a job.
