I would recommend my university to students who are keen on pursuing higher studies abroad. The research facilities are decent and one can really do well here. Its really up to the student to try and do the best.

I had to write GRE as well as TOEFL, I didn't attend any coaching classes, I prepared for these myself. My visa experience was good. I wasn't asked much except about my finances and course selection. I travelled by AIR INDIA. They didn't offer any student fare. I didn't experience any immigration issues at the airport and the university had offered a meet and greet service.

Tas, RAs and other scholarships are offered by the university.

The Masters program at the University of Maryland is good. It has been structured well. The professors are excellent and are quite supportive towards international students.

I am staying outside campus in an apartment. We have very good facilities at the univertsity, both academic and sports. Night life as such does not exit and the social scene is pretty boring. The international student society organises various events (festivals) like diwali, holi, independence day, etc.

A placement cell exists at the university. It basically functions on alumni contacts,university contacts,as well as our own interest. However under ongoing circumstances the job market is down. Various organizations such as Delloit,Exxon mobil,Halliburton,Chevron,Shell,visit our campus.
