I am really enjoying myself here at this university and have made lots of friends. The university is nice and big plusmany Indian restaurants near campus, many Indians here which make me feel at home. Students coming here are prepared to have fun during your study.

I had to apply online to the university which has a pretty decent acceptance rate for international students. The visa process was smooth though I feared I would be given a pink slip. Be confident of your answers and have all the necessary documents for the interview. The process was not painful though you may feel tensed on the day of your visa interview. Be calm and relaxed when you answer.

My courses are focused on the materials aspects and I should say I am definitely happy the way the professors have chosen the syllabus for the course. Their method of teaching is highly professional. They are also friendly and take us out for dinners during special days like new year's eve. The university has a quarter system and three courses to a quarter. There is funding for MS students and lots of part time employment opportunities available. Students coming here can look into the research interests of the professors online and have a professor fixed so that the students can work under them as RA's.

The campus is huge with all the latest facilities for the students in sports and leisure activities. The apartments are not very costly if four students can stay in a two bed room apartment. Lots of scope for jobs on campus. There are many student organized events on campus held by the various organizations on campus. Pittsburgh is close by for sight seeing.

I am not sure about the alumni network but there are regular job fairs on campus.
