I completed my MS at the University of Kentucky in 2005. It is a very good university especially in terms of international student support. I would definitely recommend the university to any Indian student intending to study abroad.

Gaining admission was not very difficult. I had to give my GRE and TOEFL exams. I also had some work ex before I applied. My Visa interview was at the Chennai Consulate - all that I remember was that it was a quick 5-10 minute interview.

There are lot of good profs in the University. There is a lot of self learing to do. It completely depends on the student to utilize the facilities available.

It gets cold in winters - please get a lot of warm clothes. Lot of part time job opportunities within the department.

Decent job prospects.
