Tennessee State University located in Nashville was founded in 1912. The University has grown from a small college to two campuses: the 500-acre main campus and the downtown Avon Williams campus located in Nashville. It has a student population of more than 9,000 offering 45 bachelor's degrees and 24 master degrees. Doctoral degrees are offered in 7 areas: biological sciences, psychology, public administration, curriculum and instruction, administration and supervision, and computer information systems engineering and physical therapy. Some of the popular majors offered are Business Administration, Biology, Nursing and Psychology.
