Western State College of Colorado was originally founded as The Colorado State Normal School for Children on April 16, 1901 and the College’s name was changed to Western State College. The College is a four-year public liberal arts college located in Gunnison, Colorado. The College offers two degrees: Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts in which students can specialize in various major, minor and pre-professional studies. Western State College records a current enrollment of 2,400 students and faculty representing all 50 states across all Colorado counties. The College also records one-third of its enrollment from outside Colorado.
